Den Reformationstag begehen wir in diesem Jahr mit zwei ganz besonderen Veranstaltungen. Zum einen sind wir sehr froh, dass wir die Organistin Kirsten Ruhwandl, Musikerin und Organistin an der Erlöserkirche in Fürstenfeldbruck bei München, für einen Orgelgottesdienst gewinnen konnten. Wir laden herzlich ein, die Walcker-Orgel auf diese Weise zu erleben:
Orgelgottesdienst zum Reformationstag am 31. Oktober um 18.30 Uhr in der Kirche in Boulak.
Dabei wird es viel Zeit zum Hören und Auf-sich-wirken-lassen der Orgel in einer besonderen Umgebung geben, denn der Kirchenraum wird sehr verändert sein.
Um 20.00 Uhr werden wir die Installation und Ausstellung „Vis-à-vis“ von Roshanak Zangeneh im Beisein der Künstlerin feierlich eröffnen.

Vom 31. Oktober (Reformationstag) bis zum 25. November (Ewigkeitssonntag) wird die iranisch-deutsche Künstlerin Roshanak Zangeneh ihre Installation in der Deutschen Evangelischen Kirche in Boulak zeigen.
Es geht um Perspektivwechsel, Erinnerungspraktiken und deren Modi des Aufscheinenlassens des Ewigen im Hier und Jetzt. Die Künstlerin gestaltet dabei den Kirchenraum auf faszinierende Weise um und lädt zum Nachdenken und Neusehen ein. Wir freuen uns und sind sehr gespannt, wie Kunst und Gottesdienstraum sich einen Monat lang gegenseitig befruchten werden.
Die Finissage findet am 25. November um 19.00 Uhr im Rahmen des Gottesdienstes zum Ewigkeitssonntag statt.

Musical service in celebration of the Reformation Day, 31st October
The German Protestant Church in Egypt invites you to attend a musical service in celebration of the 501st anniversary of the reformation at the German Protestant Church in Shera El Galaa (next to Al Ahram newspaper / cf. Google Map pin in next message https://goo.gl/maps/uz4AoCx6LtJ2) on Wednesday 31st October at 6:30 pm. Organist Kirsten Ruhwandl from Germany will delight us with plenty of organ music played on the best organ in Egypt and the Middle East.
The celebration service will be followed by the vernissage of an art exhibition by Egyptian artist Roshanak Zangeneh at the same place. We are looking forward to seeing you on October 31st.
Our Church as a Space of Art: „Vis-à-vis“

In the period from Reformation Day (October 31st) to Eternity Sunday (November 25th) the German-Iranian artist Roshanak Zangeneh will exhibit artworks and an installation in the German Protestant Church in Boulak thematizing practices of remembrance and their modes of giving appearance to the Eternal in the here and now.
At the centre of Zangeneh’s project we find a reinterpretation of the basic narrative geometry of the interior of the church; a reinterpretation that invites the visitor to reflect on ingrained habits of orientation towards him/herself, the other and the divine.
The closing Finissage will take place on November 25th in the context of a service held for Eternity Sunday.
